June 29th: How Successful Virtual Teams Collaborate
Today I read the article, "How Successful Virtual Teams Collaborate." I thought this article was very interesting and offered a lot of great knowledge. I almost wish I had read this before doing our midterm group project. I like how the author goes into detail about what works when it comes to being successful collaborating in a team online. I think her point she makes that you need to trust one another is huge. This can be hard if you are collaborating in an online environment, or if you don't even know the person. I also like how she discusses how to build a fluid team structure if you are working with an exceptionally large group. This author is very informative and I think a lot of people could benefit from reading this article if they are involved in any sort of online collaboration. I thought the idea about playing virtual games that encourage collaboration was interesting.
Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI thought this article was insightful as well because it gives you the necessary tools to successfully collaborate in a group. I agree that trusting one another is significant because it allows you to feel more comfortable to express your thoughts and ideas. At my internship this summer, I was told that every member of each department is required to go to a corporate bonding activity in order for them to trust one another, therefore allowing them to work together as a team in a professional setting. Great job!
Sarah, I said the exact same thing in my post. We should have read this article before our group project because me and my team members had a really hard time collaborating over a virtual environment. Trusting one another is one of the biggest problems we had so I like how you mentioned that because when I read it I thought it couldn't have been more valid. I completely agree that a lot of people would benefit from an article like this because we've learned throughout the semester it's a very important skill that we are going to face in the real world. Overall you did a very good job explaining what you took from the article, Great post!
